Interesting facts about Hyderabad Metro Red line
- The Hyderabad Metro Red Line, also known as Corridor 1, began operations on 29 November 2017. This was the first operational line of Hyderabad Metro.
- The line is 29.21 km long and spans 27 stations from Miyapur to LB Nagar.
- A special purpose vehicle company, L&T Metro Rail Hyderabad Limited (L&TMRHL), was set up by construction company Larsen & Toubro (L&T) to develop the Hyderabad Metro Rail project.
- Trains arrive every 5–10 minutes during peak hours and every 10–15 minutes during non-peak hours, providing a frequency tailored to passenger needs.
- The Red Line is planned to be extended beyond both its terminals under the second phase of the metro development project. From LB Nagar it is being extended to Hayat Nagar, while from Miyapur it will connect Patancheru.
Hyderabad Metro Red Line Extension in Phase 2
The Hyderabad Metro's Red Line, which currently operates from Miyapur to LB Nagar, is proposed for expansion under Phase 2. Under this plan, the Red Line will be extended by about 12 km from Miyapur to Patancheru and 5 km from LB Nagar to Hayathnagar.
7 new stations will be built between Miyapur to Patancheru and 4 new stations between LB Nagar to Hayathnagar. It will be completely elevated.
Also, it will facilitate interchange with other metro lines. The project is targeted to be completed by 2028.

Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) on Sunday, January 19 announced the route map for the second phase of the metro extension. This new route will connect Miyapur to Patancheru, covering a distance of 13.4 km and includes ten proposed stations including Patancheru, Miyapur, Alwyn X Road, Madinaguda, Chanda Nagar, Jyothi Nagar, BHEL, RC Puram and Beeramguda. However, these station names are tentative and are subject to change.
