Pink Line History, Facts & Expansion

The Pink Line of the Pune Metro, also known as Line 4, is the fourth line of the city's metro network.
This line is fully elevated, spanning 23.203 km with 23 stations.
The Pink Line connects Maan (Hinjewadi) to the District Court Metro Station in Shivajinagar.
The line provides metro connectivity to major areas such as the Hinjewadi IT Park, Balewadi, Baner, Aundh, and Shivajinagar.
The Pink Line connects with the Purple Line and Aqua Line at the District Court Interchange Station.
The Pink Line was inaugurated by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 3 November 2026, and passenger services commenced on 4 November 2026.
The line is operated entirely by women train operators.
Around 30% of the Pink Line's power needs are planned to be met through solar energy.
Trains run at an interval of approximately 6 minutes during peak hours and 12 minutes during non-peak hours.

Extension of Pune Metro Pink Line from Shivajinagar to Yewalewadi

The extension of the Pune Metro's Pink Line (Line 3) is proposed as an approximately 20-km elevated metro corridor from Shivajinagar to Yewalewadi. This corridor will extend from Shivajinagar to Yewalewadi via Collectorate, Camp, Pulgate, and Kondhwa. An additional spur corridor is also proposed, from Jyoti Square to Undri via NIBM Junction. Surveys and alignment studies are underway to prepare a detailed project report (DPR). The corridor is targeted for completion by 2030-31, subject to necessary government approvals.
