About Raman Science Center

Raman Science Center and Raman Planetarium Complex in Nagpur is an interactive science center affiliated to Nehru Science Center in Mumbai. To nurture and promote science skills, the Raman Science Center was established under the aegis of Nehru Science Centre, Mumbai. The center is named after the famous Nobel Prize winning Indian physicist Chandrashekhar Venkata Raman. The Raman Science Center was inaugurated on 7 March 1992 and the planetarium was launched on 5 January 1997.

It has many fascinating attractions for the scientific minded people. Several science exhibitions, sky observation programmes, demonstration lectures and workshops are organized regularly to encourage the budding scientifically inclined minds. This tops a visitor's to-do list to Nagpur.

Architecture of Raman Science Center

The NCSM accords regional status to the center and its total area is 4333 square metres. Noted Nobel Prize winning physicist C.V. Raman This is a unique interactive science.

  4. This center in collaboration with local NGO Hirwai gives Green Finger Award for creating environmental awareness among school children.
  5. The center currently has 4 different interactive galleries, an Innovation Center, a Science on the Sphere show and a 133-seat planetarium, fun science, a prehistoric animal park and much more.
  6. Science lectures, science film shows and 3-dimensional science shows are also organized at the center.
