- The Red Line was the first line of the Delhi Metro.

Delhi Metro Red Line Extension in Phase IV
The Union Cabinet on 06 December 2024 has approved the Rithala-Narela-Nathupur corridor of the fourth phase project of Delhi Metro. The corridor is to be completed in 4 years from the date of approval. Under this project, the Shaheed Sthal (New Bus Adda)-Rithala Red Line corridor will be extended. This 26.463 km long line will have 21 elevated stations, which will connect Rithala in Delhi to Nathupur. These mainly include Narela, Bawana, Rohini Sector and Kundli.
This will be the fourth extension of Delhi Metro in Haryana, which will connect to the existing routes of Gurugram, Ballabhgarh and Bahadurgarh.

The Delhi Metro Red Line has several interchange stations where passengers can switch to other metro lines. Here are the interchange stations:
- Kashmere Gate – Interchange with Yellow Line (Samaypur Badli to Millennium City Centre) and Violet Line (Kashmere Gate to Raja Nahar Singh Ballabhgarh)

There is no single-station interchange between the Red Line and the Blue Line. Passengers can use one of the following two-step routes depending on the desired destination:
- Via Yellow Line (central route):
Take the Red Line to Kashmere Gate, change to the Yellow Line, travel to Rajiv Chowk, and then change to the Blue Line.
- Via Green Line (west route):
Take the Red Line to Inderlok, change to the Green Line, travel to Kirti Nagar, and then change to the Blue Line.
- Via Pink Line (multiple options):
Take the Red Line to Netaji Subhash Place or Welcome, change to the Pink Line, then transfer at an appropriate interchange (for example Rajouri Garden, Karkarduma, Anand Vihar, or Mayur Vihar Phase I) to reach the Blue Line station closest to the final destination.
Tip: Choose the route based on the final destination — Rajiv Chowk is best for central Delhi (Connaught Place), Kirti Nagar for western destinations, and the Pink Line options for eastern targets.

Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) Managing Director Vikas Kumar said that several countries, including Israel, Egypt and Kenya, have approached DMRC for cooperation in metro projects. The corporation now plans to expand its international presence through a dedicated overseas branch to generate additional revenue to modernize the capital's aging infrastructure.
The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) announced on Thursday that metro services on select corridors will resume at 6 a.m. on Sunday to facilitate candidates appearing for the Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination conducted by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC). According to the DMRC, train services from the terminal stations of Line 7 (Pink Line), Line 8 (Magenta Line), and Line 9 (Grey Line) will begin one hour earlier than the normal Sunday timings on May 24. However, in view of the UPSC preliminary examination, services will begin at 6 a.m. and will run every 15 minutes until 7 a.m. After that, services will resume as per the normal Sunday schedule, the DMRC said. The corporation stated that this arrangement has been made to ensure smooth travel for candidates so that they can reach their examination centers on time without any inconvenience. It further stated that services on all other metro lines will continue as per the regular Sunday schedule from 6 a.m.
The Namo Bharat extension will connect Rajasthan with Delhi. This semi-high-speed rail line will connect Alwar to New Delhi through a modern regional transportation system. The project has been moved forward after Rajasthan and Haryana agreed on the corridor plan. Once completed, Namo Bharat trains will run between Delhi and Alwar, making travel in the NCR region faster and easier. The corridor will begin at Sarai Kale Khan in Delhi and pass through Munirka, Aerocity, Gurugram, Bawal, SNB, Khairthal, and Alwar. Another section from SNB will extend to Sotanalat via Neemrana and Behror. This corridor will facilitate traffic between Delhi and major industrial cities of Rajasthan and Haryana.
