- Delhi Metro's Green Line is a completely elevated line.
- This metro line runs mostly along the busy NH 9 route in North Delhi and North West Delhi, bypassing Tikri Border to enter Bahadurgarh.
- It is the first Delhi metro line based on standard gauge. A standard gauge railway is a track that is 1,435 mm (4 ft 8½ in) wide.

Delhi Metro Green Line extension in Phase IV
The Phase IV of the Delhi Metro Green Line Extension plan includes a 12.3 km extension from Inderlok to Indraprastha, adding 10 new stations. These stations will be mostly underground and will directly connect the existing line (Kirti Nagar-Inderlok/Bahadurgarh) to central and east Delhi, and improve connectivity to several other metro lines and Haryana. This extension was approved in March 2024 and is expected to be completed by March 2029.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has installed around 20 kilometres of barricades, along with 17 kilometres of blinkers and LED lights, at its construction sites in the city. The DMRC said that over 270 traffic marshals have been deployed at these locations to ensure the safety of pedestrians and vehicles around the metro construction sites. Road studs have been installed to slow down traffic at sensitive traffic points near the construction sites. Warning signs indicating work in progress or an alternative route ahead have also been installed.

The early start is intended to facilitate the movement of people attending Republic Day celebrations on duty. The DMRC stated that trains on all lines will run at 15-minute intervals from 3 a.m. to 6 a.m. After 6 a.m., metro services will operate as per the regular timetable for the rest of the day.
◷ 2026-01-23 | ☍ NDTVThe Delhi Metro project has progressed as the Delhi government has released funds totaling ₹3,386.18 crore for the remaining three corridors of Delhi Metro Phase 4. Officials said the Lajpat Nagar-Saket G-Block corridor and the Inderlok-Indraprastha corridor have been placed under a single financial framework, with a total project cost of ₹8,399.81 crore. The Delhi government's contribution to this combined phase is ₹1,987.86 crore. Meanwhile, the estimated cost of the Rithala-Kundli corridor is approximately ₹6,230.99 crore. The Delhi government will provide ₹1,398.32 crore for this corridor. This extension will further enhance connectivity in the NCR and address transportation challenges in the capital.

According to a TOI report, it will be easy for passengers to reach home from 10 busy metro stations. DMRC has taken this decision to reduce waiting time and provide convenient travel options for daily commuters. The corporation is going to start this service at 10 metro stations located near major market centers - New Delhi, Nehru Place, Lajpat Nagar, Rajiv Chowk and Millennium City Centre.
◷ 2026-01-16 | ☍ India.comThe trains on the Delhi Metro's Airport Express Line are being operated at a restricted speed between Dhaula Kuan and Shivaji Stadium stations due to the damaged signalling cables after a theft attempt, officials said on Sunday. About 800 metres of signalling cables were cut during the attempt in the midsection between the two stations, disrupting the signalling system, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said. As a result, trains are being operated at a restricted speed of 25 kmph on the affected up line section towards New Delhi between Dhaula Kuan and Shivaji Stadium stations, DMRC said.
