The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has approved Phase V(B) of the Delhi Metro, under which the metro corridor will be extended from Shastri Park to Mayur Vihar III (13.20 kilometers). A total of 8 stations have been proposed for this new corridor. According to the technical blueprint, three of these stations will be underground, while five will be elevated. The list of proposed stations includes prominent names such as Shastri Park, Nirman Vihar, Trilokpuri, Mayur Vihar Phase-III, New Kondli, Patparganj, Geeta Colony, Gandhi Nagar Market, and Kailash Nagar.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on May 12, 2026, announced a partnership with Airtel Payments Bank to launch jointly branded RuPay 'On-the-Go' cards linked to the National Common Mobility Cards (NCMC) network. Officials said these cards will enable easy and interoperable payments on metros, buses and other public transport networks across the country. The DMRC said the co-branded cards – a debit card and a PPI-MTS (Prepaid Payment Instrument for Mass Transit System) card – will allow commuters to pay for metro travel across multiple cities and transit systems using a single open-loop card.

Due to the IPL 2026 match between Delhi Capitals and Royal Challengers Bangalore at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in New Delhi, the DMRC has announced changes to the last train service timings on several routes. The last metro service timings have been extended from the usual 11 pm on various routes across the network. The DMRC stated that the last Red Line train from Shaheed Sthal to Rithala will depart at 12:10 am, while the return train from Rithala to Shaheed Sthal will depart at 12:15 am. On the Yellow Line, the last metro train from Samaypur Badli to Gurugram will depart at 12:20 am, and from Gurugram to Samaypur Badli at 11:45 pm. On the Blue Line, trains from Dwarka Sector 21 to Vaishali will depart at 11:45 pm and to Noida at 11:35 pm. The last train from both Vaishali and Noida Electronic City to Dwarka will depart at 12 am.
