History of Delhi Metro Brown Line:
The Brown Line also known as Line 12 is an approved line of the Delhi Metro. It will connect Lajpat Nagar to Saket G-Block over a length of 7.96 km (4.95 mi). The line was approved by the Government of India and the foundation stone for its construction was laid by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on 14 March 2024. Construction is yet to begin as part of the fourth phase of the Delhi Metro's development and the line is scheduled to be completed by March 2026.
Extension Plan of Delhi Metro Brown Line:
The Brown Line will serve as a connectivity hub for the existing metro lines in South Delhi, connecting three metro lines: Pink Line, Magenta Line and Violet Line. It will provide better direct connection to eastern, southern and south-eastern Delhi with Indira Gandhi International Airport and Faridabad. The line will start from Lajpat Nagar and end at Saket G-Block 2.

- The Brown Line was initially known as the Silver Line (2020-2023) and Gold Line for some time.
- The yellow tiles with horizontal lines serve as a pathway for the blind and lead directly to the elevators.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Sahibabad-New Ashok Nagar section of the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut Rapid Rail. High-speed trains will run on the 55 km long Namo Bharat Corridor with 11 stations. Train service will be available every 15 minutes, connecting Meerut and Delhi directly. The journey from New Ashok Nagar to Meerut South will take only 40 minutes.
